Nostalgia, Fun
& Fandom

Our mission for The Flash was to simply re-package the we felt while screening it for the first time. At the heart of this movie was a young man trying to save his family. Sure, he had to save the world after he mucked everything up, but at least he had the help of a new, fierce Supergirl. It also marked the return of our childhood Batman and an older, wilier Bruce Wayne. The goosebumps here were real!
Our aim was to strike a balance throughout the campaign of family, action, time travel and tribute. Standout A/V pieces included “Reflections”, which opens on a melancholy note and triumphantly pivots to superhero-laden action. We designed a “time stamp” border effect in our video spots that stacked on top of itself with each cut, allowing the action to break out of & back into the frame. The “Flash Frenzy” motion posters were a hit amongst fans and paid homage to all 3 DC icons individually. The “Speed Force” carousel design provided a 1st person point of view into the Speed Force, sprawled across (3) panoramic panels featuring Batman, Flash & Supergirl respectively.
We also recreated fun “If you know, you know” elements from the movie in 3D (Pasta Bowlt, Tomato Can, etc.), hoping to spark conversation amongst fans who had seen the movie and pique the curiosity of viewers who had yet to see it. Our team combined graphic design, compositing, VFX, editorial, 3D modeling & animation to create a total of 22 video assets for The Flash, helping it debut as the  #1 movie on digital.
