Set in mid 20th century France, the sequel to 2018’s The Nun doubled down on the goth horror. Burning priests, faceless nuns, demon goats, cockroaches galore and of course, the one & only Valek! Really, the smorgasbord of disturbing visuals we got to play with for this campaign was *chef’s kiss*, perfect.
The challenge became how to strategically build suspense across each asset in order for those disturbing visuals to have maximum impact. We wanted to compel the audience to continue watching without desensitizing them towards the end. Our video assets kept the integrity of The Conjuring horror franchise with music, build & pacing. Finally, we spent weeks recreating the horror icon Valek for 3D animations like “Unholy Saint” & “The Convent”, which told unique visual stories while staying unmistakably true to the IP.
